If you are in Melbourne jump on a train and come to Frankston. Free walking tours of the street art. This was one alleyway, there are more. www.discoverfrankston.com
I love the music from the 1920's. In fact l follow the 1920's Channel and Johnathan Holmes You Tube channels. Both play great music from that time.
There was no bigger name than Leon Bismark, Bix Beiderbecke (1903-1931). He played the cornet, piano, composed music and played with big bands. His peers held his music up high. Here is Hoagy Carmichael remembering Bix.
Louis Armstrong knew him, Paul Whiteman knew him , all the big names from back then did. So much talent, so much great music and he was gone by age 28. He basically drank himself to death.
I have several posts on this website sharing the sweet, sweet music of Bix Beiderbeke. If you haven't seen please have a look. He was a genius back in the golden years of jazz.
